Japan has donated $600,000 to the people of Afghanistan

Bayan News – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced Japan’s donation of $600,000 to the people of Afghanistan.

OCHA expressed gratitude for this assistance from Japan to the people of Afghanistan in a message issued today, Tuesday, April 2nd.

The organization added that this aid from Japan will be disbursed to the people of Afghanistan through the United Nations Humanitarian Fund.

Over the past two years, Japan has also provided several million dollars in additional assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

These donations come at a time when the Secretary-General of the United Nations stated in his remarks that only three percent of the global aid to the people of Afghanistan has been secured.

However, international aid to the people of Afghanistan has significantly decreased over the past two years.
