Taliban Leader to Subordinates: Coercing People Turns Them Against You

Bayan News – Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, has urged his subordinates in his Eid message not to unjustly harass and intimidate people, and to avoid any form of oppression on the people.

The Eid message of the Taliban leader was released today, Sunday, April 6, and in this message, it is stated that if injustice is done to anyone, the entire system will shake.

He added: “The people of Afghanistan have suffered a lot, there has been a lot of escalated oppression, and they have given numerous sacrifices. This victory has come as a result of the sacrifices of these people, so value these people greatly and listen to their cries.”

In this Eid message, other members of the Taliban are also urged to encourage and motivate people with Islamic ethics, and in the execution of affairs, coercion and compulsion should not be employed.

He further added: “People despise you (Taliban) for coercion, and with encouragement, they show friendship and loyalty to you.”

The Taliban leader continues to emphasize: “If someone is imprisoned, their status should be monitored so that no unfounded complaint is made against them, and they are not subjected to greater punishment for a minor offense, so be cautious not to cause them undue harm.”

Lack of Mention Regarding Girls’ Education

It was expected that the Taliban leader would address the issue of how girls in Afghanistan are being educated on this occasion, but in the message issued from Akhundzada’s address, there was no mention of it.

The Taliban leader noted that the Ministry of Education has set up extensive structures for religious and modern education in all provinces and districts, and has also activated hundreds of religious and scientific centers.

According to Akhundzada, every Muslim is obligated to raise their children properly to receive better education and at the same time, efforts should be made to provide them with opportunities for religious education.

This is while the new school year in Afghanistan has started virtually a month ago, and despite schools being open, girls are still deprived of receiving education. According to published statistics, over the past two years, 1.5 million girls across Afghanistan have been left out of school.
