Bayan News – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in response to the Iran-Israel war, says that the Middle East is facing a real danger and destructive conflict.
Guterres made these statements on Monday evening (April 14) during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
He said, “The Middle East is on the edge of a precipice. The people of the region are facing a real danger of destructive and all-out conflict.”
The UN Secretary-General has urged Iran and Israel to exercise restraint and prevent the escalation of tensions to avoid a crisis.
Iran’s military and retaliatory attack against Israel has elicited regional and international reactions.
In the emergency meeting of the Security Council, representatives of countries such as Israel, the United States, Britain, and France condemned Iran’s attack and deemed it a threat to regional and global peace and security.
At the same time, representatives of some other regional countries such as China and Russia have supported Iran’s military action.
