UN Human Rights Council to hold a session on Afghanistan

Bayan News – International media, citing members of the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights, have reported that the UN Human Rights Council will hold a session on Afghanistan in the near future.

It is said that this session will be held next Tuesday.

Simultaneously, the UN Human Rights Council’s Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review has confirmed that a session will be held in the near future to examine the human rights situation in Afghanistan.

Recently, there has been increasing international criticism of the Taliban for violating human rights values in Afghanistan.

The US Department of State, in its annual human rights report, described the human rights situation in Afghanistan as concerning and added that the Taliban continues to engage in human rights abuses.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Women’s organization, referring to the human rights situation in Afghanistan, stated that Afghanistan has become a graveyard of hope for girls in the country.

On the occasion of the International Day of Girls in ICT (Information and Communication Technology), this UN body wrote on its platform that the international community stands alongside the girls of Afghanistan.
