Doctors Without Borders recovered the bodies of 11 migrants from the waters off Libya
Bayan News – The organization Doctors Without Borders announced yesterday (June 8) that it had recovered the bodies of 11 migrants from the waters off Libya.
Doctors Without Borders wrote on the X platform that the search and rescue teams’ operation took 9 hours to recover the bodies.
According to the organization, migrants need to stop taking dangerous routes to reach Europe.
Doctors Without Borders wrote: “People will continue to try to find a safe life, not a better one. There must be legal channels for escape from completely inhumane situations.”
However, according to published statistics, around 300 migrants have died in the Mediterranean Sea from January 1 to June 2024.
