The European Union provided 150 million euros to Afghanistan

Bayan News – Rafaela Lodis, the EU representative for Afghanistan, says that the EU will provide 150 million euros to Afghanistan in 2024.

The EU representative wrote on the EU platform on Monday evening that this aid will be made available to the people of Afghanistan with the participation of humanitarian partners.

The EU Office for the Protection of Civilians and Humanitarian Operations added in a statement that out of this amount, 126 million euros will be spent inside Afghanistan.

According to the statement, 11 million euros have been allocated for needy Afghan migrants in Pakistan, and another 11 million euros have been allocated for Afghan migrants in Iran.

The EU added that the assistance will focus on areas such as food aid, shelter, healthcare, and access to water and sanitation.

The European Union has also allocated 14.5 million euros for emergency education, as eight million children and adolescents do not have access to education, including 1.4 million girls who are deprived of going to school.

However, the European Union has been the largest donor to Afghanistan in the past two years.
