Russian media reported a hostage-taking incident involving ISIS members in a Russian prison

Bayan News – Russian media reported that ISIS inmates at the Rostov prison had taken two prison guards hostage on Sunday, June 16. The ISIS prisoners demanded free exit from the prison in exchange for the release of the guards.

After several hours of hostage-taking, the ISIS prisoners were killed in a special operation, and the two guards were freed.

Russian media did not specify the number of people involved in the hostage-taking incident who were killed. However, Reuters reported that six people were killed, with one of them wearing an ISIS headband with Arabic inscriptions.

The Federal Security agencies in the Rostov region stated that the hostage-takers were armed with knives and were unable to access the guards’ firearms.
