Taliban’s Reaction to Bennett’s Report; Public Minds about the Doha Meeting are Being Discredited

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Taliban’s interim government, in response to the recent report by Richard Bennett, said that the minds about the Doha meeting are being discredited by some members of the United Nations.

Mujahid wrote on the X platform on Wednesday (June 19): “The report of some members of the United Nations, especially the report of Richard Bennett, is to discredit the minds on the eve of the Doha meeting.”

He further wrote: “Unfortunately, some resentful individuals in the United Nations always try to present inaccurate reports about Afghanistan and overshadow major achievements with limited topics.”

The Taliban spokesman, stating that pressures and conspiracies are still in vain, emphasized that the continuation and repetition of it is trying failed experiences, and it is expected that the realities will be understood and a constructive position will be adopted.

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan spoke yesterday in the 56th session of the UN Human Rights Council and expressed deep concern about the deteriorating human rights situation, especially for women and girls.

He said that the suppression and restriction of women and girls by the Taliban is still ongoing.
