Thousands of residents of Nangarhar, Khost, Laghman and Kandahar provinces celebrated in the streets on Tuesday (June 25).
Furthermore, political figures and the Taliban, including Ashraf Ghani, Hamid Karzai, Dr. Abdullah, Amir Khan Muttaqi and other prominent political personalities, congratulated this historic victory.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, in a phone call with Rashid Khan, the captain of the Afghan national cricket team, congratulated the team on their victory.
Muttaqi added that the Taliban keeps sports separate from politics.
