Amnesty International calls on the Taliban to end torture of women

Bayan News – Amnesty International, in a message, has called on the Taliban to end torture and violence against women and girls.

The organization is making this demand to the Taliban as some women who were previously imprisoned by the Taliban have recently claimed that they were subjected to violence and mistreatment in Taliban prisons.

Amnesty International said on Saturday (July 13) in a message on the X platform that the Taliban have committed human rights violations against women, including killings, corporal punishment, and arbitrary arrests.

The organization said: “Violations and human rights abuses, including corporal punishment, killings, arbitrary detentions, torture, and denial of education, must come to an end.”

This is while the Taliban have severely restricted women and girls since coming to power in Afghanistan.
