Biden’s speech, which was broadcasted live from the White House on Sunday (July 14), told the American people to remain calm and prevent the escalation of the political climate.
In his speech, Biden expressed satisfaction and said that Trump could have been killed in this incident.
The US President said: “We debate; we disagree; we compare the candidates’ personalities, records, issues, agendas, and visions for America, but in America, we settle our differences at the ballot box, not with bullets.”
He further emphasized in his speech: “We cannot allow this violence to be normalized. The political rhetoric in the country has become very heated. Now is the time to cool it down.”
It should be noted that Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the US presidency, was shot and wounded in the ear two days ago at an election event in the state of Pennsylvania.
