Amnesty International: The German government should support Afghans at risk

Bayan News – Amnesty International’s branch in Germany has expressed concern about Germany’s lack of support for Afghans at risk.

The organization on Wednesday (July 17) called on the German government, with reference to the 2025 budget, not to abandon Afghans at risk to an uncertain fate.

Amnesty International has provided statistics that 3,700 Afghans in Pakistan are waiting to be transferred to Germany, and at the same time, 15,000 others in Afghanistan are in contact with this country.

Amnesty International’s German branch has emphasized that the federal reception program for Afghanistan should not be sacrificed due to budget cuts.

This concern is expressed while the German government has taken a strict approach in the process of accepting Afghans at risk, and in some cases has rejected the requests of some eligible individuals.
