Pakistan’s Police have Resumed the Arrest of Afghan Migrants

Bayan News – It has been reported that the Islamabad police have resumed the arrest of migrants whose visas have expired.

According to the reports, Afghan migrants said on Saturday (July 20) that a group of Afghan migrants were arrested from the B17 area of Islamabad today.

According to the migrants, the arrested Afghans are those who have sought refuge in Pakistan out of fear of retaliation from the Taliban, in order to be transferred to one of the migrant-receiving countries from there.

In the reports, quoting Parvin Haydari, one of the Afghan migrants residing in Islamabad, it has been mentioned that her husband was arrested by the Islamabad police on Saturday and she does not know where he has been transferred to.

This migrant added: “I am the mother of three children. All my children are minors. Early this morning, the police came to our house and took my husband away because he did not have a visa.”

This report is published at a time when the Pakistani government has recently undertaken the second phase of the mass deportation of undocumented migrants.

According to the published statistics, the Pakistani government is determined to deport about 800,000 Afghan migrants in this phase.
