The Taliban: There is no threat from Afghan soil to Iran

Bayan News – Hamidullah Fateha, the deputy spokesman of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has responded to recent statements by a member of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament, saying that there will be no threat from Afghanistan’s borders to Iran.

Recently, Yaqoub Rezazadeh, a member of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament, had said that the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan are controlled by terrorist groups, which poses a challenge and a threat to the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian representative also said that the government of Pakistan and the Taliban do not have control over the borders between that country and Afghanistan.

The Taliban’s deputy spokesman, in a video released on Saturday (July 20) through Afghan national television, stated that their forces are stationed on the borders of Afghanistan with Iran, and that there will be no threat from these borders towards Tehran.

The Taliban spokesman also considered arms trafficking to be a “common threat” at the international level and said that eliminating this challenge is impossible.

However, the Iranian government has fenced off its borders with Afghanistan in order to prevent the movement of armed groups.
