America: ISIS Has the Capability to Conduct Attacks Worldwide

Bayan News – U.S. officials, stating that ISIS has gained the capability to carry out international attacks, say Washington is working with its allies to prevent the resurgence of ISIS and other terrorist threats from Afghan soil.

Vedant Patel, the U.S. State Department deputy spokesperson, said at a press briefing on Thursday (August 1) that ISIS is an international terrorist network that has the capability to organize attacks worldwide.

This U.S. State Department official added: “We are constantly working to ensure that Afghanistan never again serves as a platform for terrorist attacks against America and our allies.”

Patel further added: “We are working with regional partners and allies to prevent the resurgence of foreign threats in Afghanistan.”

The U.S. State Department deputy spokesperson emphasized that Washington is combating international terrorism in cooperation with international and regional allies.

Previously, the UN Security Council, referring to the significant increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, had said that the terrorist threats in Afghanistan have caused greater concern among the member countries of the United Nations.

Concurrent with this concern, the chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee had also recently warned that ISIS-affiliated individuals have entered the U.S. from the Mexican border.
