Iran has executed 20 Afghan nationals in the past seven months, according to some Iranian human rights organizations
Bayan News – According to the report by the Iran Human Rights Organization, in this time period, around 300 people including 20 Afghans were executed.
In addition, the report states that among those executed in the past seven months, 42 were Baloch, 20 were Kurd, one was Iraqi, and 15 were women.
The Iran Human Rights Organization report, released on Saturday (August 3), states that 172 people were executed on drug-related charges and 110 others were executed on murder charges.
The Iran Human Rights Organization emphasized that after a relative decrease in the implementation of death sentences between the death of Ebrahim Raisi and the end of the second round of the presidential election (April 20 to July 6), the number of executions in July (July 2 to July 31) reached at least 49, with the sentences of 36 of them carried out in the last 11 days of the month.
The Iran Human Rights Organization has warned about the intensification of the implementation of death sentences in Iranian prisons and has called for the special attention of the international community to the issue of executions in Iran.
