The German government arrested two Afghan ISIS supporters for planning an attack in Sweden

Bayan News – The German federal prosecutors have reportedly arrested two Afghans last year whom they have now accused of supporting ISIS.

The two ISIS supporters, named Ibrahim and Ramin, are currently detained in Germany on suspicion of plotting a shooting attack near the Swedish parliament.

According to the German prosecutors, the plan by the two suspects was hatched in response to the Quran burning incidents in Sweden and other Scandinavian countries last year.

The German prosecutors have accused the two men of sending money to ISIS Khorasan, which is primarily active in Afghanistan and Pakistan, through intermediaries.

Meanwhile, ISIS Khorasan had in the summer of 2023 directed the main suspect to carry out an attack in Europe “in reaction to the Quran burning in Sweden and other Scandinavian countries”.

The two men then “planned to use firearms to kill police and other individuals around the Swedish parliament.”

The German authorities said the suspects had taken concrete steps to execute this deadly plot “in close coordination with ISIS Khorasan”.
