U.S. Department of State: The United States Does Not Support Armed Conflicts in Afghanistan
Bayan News – Fox News has reported, citing officials from the U.S. Department of State, that Washington does not support armed conflicts in Afghanistan.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State added to Fox News that Afghanistan has been engaged in war for the past 44 years, and Washington no longer wants to witness the return of conflicts in this country.
These remarks come at a time when Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front, may meet with Michael McCaul, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The National Resistance Front is one of the first military fronts that has opposed the Taliban in Afghanistan for the past three years.
According to Fox News, given the multiple global crises and the approaching controversial presidential election in the U.S., it seems that the U.S. government is not inclined to discuss the situation in Afghanistan three years after withdrawal.
