UN Security Council: Terrorism is the Most Serious Threat to Afghanistan and the World
Bayan News – The UN Security Council reacted on Thursday evening (September 5), five days after ISIS targeted employees of the Taliban’s prosecutor’s office.
In a statement, the Council condemned the ISIS suicide attack in Kabul and emphasized that terrorism remains the most serious threat to the security of Afghanistan and the world.
The Security Council urged all countries to take effective action against this significant challenge. It also stressed the necessity of holding accountable and prosecuting the perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and supporters of these terrorist acts.
However, on Monday (September 12), a suicide attacker targeted Taliban prosecutor’s office employees in the Qala-e Bakhtiar area of Kabul.
The responsibility for this incident, claimed by the Khorasan branch of ISIS, resulted in the deaths of more than 10 Taliban prosecutor’s office employees, with 12 others injured. This attack drew international condemnations.
