Taliban Prevent Transfer of Shia Religious Books by Karbala Pilgrims at Islam Qala Border
Bayan News – A source in Herat province told a Bayan News reporter that Taliban forces at the Islam Qala border are preventing the transfer of Shia religious books brought by pilgrims to Karbala from Iran and Iraq.
The source stated on Thursday morning (September 12) that Taliban forces are collecting books such as Ziyarat Ashura, Connection with God, and prayer rugs from the Karbala pilgrims.
This source, who wished to remain unnamed, added that the Taliban border forces confiscated all these items from their niece, who had recently returned from the pilgrimage to Karbala at the Islam Qala border.
According to the source, these actions by the Taliban border forces towards the Karbala pilgrims have been disrespectful and humiliating.
Some Taliban forces at the Islam Qala border have labeled the Karbala pilgrims as “polytheists” while confiscating the Shia religious books.
Meanwhile, Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Akbari, deputy head of the Shia Scholars Council of Afghanistan, told the PUL news agency that he has received varying reports on this issue and that the incident of preventing the transfer of Shia religious books by Karbala pilgrims has not yet been properly confirmed.
The deputy head of the Shia Scholars Council of Afghanistan added that the accounts on this matter are contradictory, and it is necessary to wait for further investigations to obtain complete information.
