Taliban Warns Shia in West Kabul: Avoid Gatherings Due to High Security Threats

Bayan News – A reporter from Bayan News has obtained an audio recording from a Shia scholar in West Kabul, in which it is stated that Taliban intelligence has warned Shia areas in Kabul about a high level of security threats from ISIS.

According to the Shia scholar’s statements, Taliban intelligence has reported to the Shia security commission that the terrorist threats from ISIS in West Kabul are serious.

Citing the intelligence report, he advises against any gatherings of Shia people in the West Kabul area.

The Shia scholar states that the Taliban has informed the Shia security coordination commission that a number of ISIS elements are present in West Kabul and may target those returning from Karbala.

In the audio recording, it is mentioned that Taliban intelligence advises Shia not to welcome the Karbala visitors, and at the same time, the Shia security commission has requested travel and pilgrimage companies to drop off the visitors in less crowded areas.

However, the Shia security commission has not officially responded to this matter.

While Taliban intelligence warns of a high level of terrorist threats against Shia individuals, just three days ago, ISIS elements executed 14 Shia individuals in Daykundi who had gone to welcome the Karbala visitors.
