Attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon; Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq Warn Israel

Bayan News – The countries of Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq stated in a joint communiqué on Wednesday (September 25) that Israel, with its attacks on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, is pushing the region toward a full-scale war.

The foreign ministers of these three countries, after a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, discussed the escalating and dangerous tensions in the region, emphasizing that stopping this escalation begins with ending Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

The foreign ministers also condemned Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, stressing that Israel is steering the region towards a total war.

The statement highlighted the necessity for Israel to adhere to its commitments under international law, international humanitarian law, and relevant agreements, particularly the four Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols.

Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq noted that Israel’s adherence must ensure protection for civilians from the consequences of Israeli attacks in accordance with international conventions.

This came as the foreign ministers of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Iraq met within the framework of a trilateral cooperation mechanism to prepare for a summit of the leaders of these three countries in Cairo.
