Taliban’s Minister of Mines Travels to Russia to Attend a Forum
Bayan News – A delegation from the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, led by Hedayatullah Badri, has arrived in Russia to participate in the Russian Energy Forum.
Hamayon Afghan, spokesperson for the ministry, told the media that the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum delegation attended the 7th International Russian Energy Forum on Friday (September 27) following an official invitation from Russia.
The spokesperson added that officials and energy leaders from 55 countries, along with representatives from major oil and gas companies, participated in the forum.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the Taliban’s Minister of Mines held separate meetings with representatives of energy and oil companies during this trip, urging them to invest in Afghanistan.
It is worth noting that while Russia has not yet officially recognized the Taliban, the two have maintained close relations over the past three years.
