Israel Bans UN Secretary-General from Entering the Country

Bayan News – Yisrael Katz, Israel’s Foreign Minister, announced in a statement on Wednesday (October 2) that António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has been banned from entering Israel due to his failure to explicitly condemn the missile attack by the Islamic Republic on Israel.

In his statement, Israel’s Foreign Minister said, “António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the UN, is a persona non grata in Israel, and he will be barred from entering the country.”

He added that this decision was made in response to Guterres’ reaction to Iran’s attacks on Israel, as the UN Secretary-General did not condemn the action by Iran.

Katz further stated that Guterres “hates” Israel and called him a “disgrace” in the history of the United Nations.

Following Iran’s missile attack on Israel on Tuesday, António Guterres said in a statement, “I condemn the escalation of conflict in the Middle East.”

The UN Secretary-General expressed regret over the “escalation upon escalation” of tensions and emphasized that this cycle “must stop” and “we must achieve a ceasefire.”
