Bayan News – Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, once again emphasized the importance of national understanding as essential for achieving lasting peace and stability in the country.
Mr. Karzai made these remarks on Monday (November 11) during a meeting with Takayoshi Kuromiya, the Japanese Ambassador in Kabul.
The former Afghan President described Japan as a long-time friend, respected by the Afghan people, and expressed his gratitude for Japan’s assistance to Afghanistan.
Hamid Karzai also urged the Japanese government to continue its support in the field of education.
He described education as vital for the progress and welfare of Afghanistan and reiterated that national understanding is essential for lasting peace and stability in the country.
For the past three years, the former Afghan President has continually emphasized the importance of national understanding in his meetings with community leaders and diplomatic representatives in Kabul. However, Karzai has not yet provided a clear definition of what he means by “national understanding.”
