North Korean Leader Orders Production of ‘Suicide Drones’
Bayan News – International media outlets have reported that Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has issued a directive for the mass production of “suicide drones.”
According to North Korean state media, he gave the order during a visit to a drone testing site, stating that the production of these drones would be prioritized.
The country’s state news agency reported that the North Korean leader participated in a performance test of this type of weaponry at a factory on Thursday (November 14).
As per the report, Kim emphasized the urgent need to establish a mass-production system and move rapidly toward the large-scale manufacturing of explosive drones.
These drones, which carry explosive payloads and were first unveiled by Pyongyang in August, are designed to deliberately crash into enemy targets and operate similarly to guided missiles.
Published reports suggest that experts believe these drones may stem from strengthened ties between North Korea and Russia.
Additionally, North Korea’s move toward producing suicide drones comes as its soldiers have been involved in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
