Bayan News – The Afghanistan Strategic Studies Center has announced that the 12th Herat Security Conference will be held in Madrid, the capital of Spain.
The center announced on the evening of December 2 that the conference, under the title “Afghanistan: The Resurrection of Hope; A Joint Effort”, will take place in the next three months in collaboration with the International Organization for the Study of Terrorism (OIET).
According to the center, the event will include several panels of discussion and speeches.
The Strategic Studies Center also added that the conference will be held at the historic building and cultural center “Ateneo de Madrid”.
In the statement, it was mentioned that the goal of the Herat Security Conference is to bring together diverse perspectives from policymakers and experts to discuss the security outlook of Afghanistan and related issues in both regional and global contexts.
According to the statement, security experts, civil society representatives, academics, journalists, and defenders of women’s rights and human rights from Afghanistan, as well as representatives from regional and Western countries, will be invited.
It is worth noting that the Herat Security Conference was held annually in Herat for nearly a decade during the previous Afghan government. After the Taliban took power, the conference was moved to Tajikistan.
