Israeli army has reportedly deployed soldiers ready to attack Rafah
Bayan News – One day after the meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, it has been reported that the Israeli army has sent soldiers ready to attack the city of Rafah.
According to Al Arabiya, as stated by the army, the soldiers who were sent on leave were previously selected to participate in the ground operation in Rafah. So far, no details have been released regarding the reason for the reduction of Israeli forces.
US and Israeli officials have stated that Netanyahu and Blinken do not accept an agreement that includes ending the war in the Gaza Strip.
Blinken, in his seventh trip to the Middle East since the start of the October war in the Gaza Strip, went to meet Netanyahu on Thursday (12th of Thor) and negotiated with the Israeli Prime Minister in a private session without the presence of Netanyahu’s advisors.
Benjamin Netanyahu, this week, emphasized the start of the evacuation operation of non-combatants from Rafah and stated that even if an agreement is reached with Hamas regarding the exchange of hostages and prisoners, Israel will carry out a ground attack on the city of Rafah.
Rafah is home to over two million Palestinian refugees, and the international community has warned about the potential consequences of Israeli operations in this city.
