McCaul to Zelenskyy: You are a courageous leader, but Ashraf Ghani abandoned his people

Bayan News – Michael McCaul, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee of the United States, praised the fight of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, against the Russian invasion during a meeting with him.

This meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Singapore Security Summit, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee made a sarcastic remark, saying: “Mr. President, you know that you are a true and courageous leader. Ashraf Ghani, the President of Afghanistan, fled his country and abandoned his people.”

McCaul further added, “But when you found yourself in a similar situation, you were offered to leave, and you said ‘I’m not going anywhere and I need ammunition.'”

The Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee pointed out that if the United States provides Ukraine with the appropriate weapons, Kyiv will be victorious against Russia.

This is not the first time that senior American senators have made a jibe at Ashraf Ghani’s flight from Kabul to the United Arab Emirates.

Ashraf Ghani fled to the United Arab Emirates out of fear of the Taliban on August 15, 2021.
