Bayan News – It has been reported that hackers affiliated with the North Korean intelligence organization have attacked several US security and military entities, including NASA.
The United States on Thursday (August 25) also confirmed that North Korean hackers had infiltrated two US Air Force bases and stolen unclassified information.
The United States has attributed the purpose of this attack to supporting North Korea’s nuclear programs.
In addition to the United States, Britain and South Korea have also announced that the hackers attacked or infiltrated the computer systems of numerous defense or engineering companies, including manufacturers of tanks, submarines, naval ships, fighter jets, and missile and radar organizations.
The statement of these three countries stated that these hackers are part of a North Korean intelligence agency called the Reconnaissance General Bureau. This organization was sanctioned by the United States and its allies in 2015.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US Department of Justice announced on Thursday that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Randolph Air Force Base in Texas, and Robins Air Force Base in Georgia were among the targets of this hacking attack.
US prosecutors said that these hackers had access to NASA’s computer system for three months since February 2022 using malware and stole more than 17 gigabytes of unclassified data.
