Iranian Diplomat: Information about the Presence of Foreign Nationals is Inaccurate
Bayan News – Coinciding with the peak of the harassment of Afghan migrants in Iran, Rasoul Mousavi, the Deputy Foreign Minister, says that the information published about the presence of foreign nationals is exaggerated and inaccurate.
He wrote on the X platform yesterday (July 27) that one of the essential functions of the National Organization for Immigration of Iran is to provide accurate, detailed, and analytical statistics on the presence of foreign nationals.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry diplomat wrote: “Apart from the legal discussions related to the establishment of the National Organization for Immigration, one of the important tasks of this organization is to provide accurate, detailed, and analytical statistics on the presence of nationals in the country. This is important to prevent the spread of rumors and inaccurate information in the society.”
Mr. Mousavi did not mention a specific country.
These statements are made at a time when Afghano-phobia and Iranophobia have recently peaked in Iran, and most Afghan migrants are harassed by Iranian citizens.
