Reactions to the mistreatment of migrants by Iranian police; Haqqani: Unacceptable

Bayan News – Coinciding with the violence and mistreatment of Afghan migrants by Iranian police, Anas Haqqani, a member of the Taliban government, has severely criticized the Islamic Republic.

On Thursday (August 8th), he wrote on the X platform that xenophobia and the violation of the human rights of Afghan migrants are unacceptable.

Mr. Haqqani, referring to the widespread torture of an Afghan migrant in Iran by a security officer, said he hopes that this type of treatment will be stopped and held accountable.

At the same time, this member of the Taliban government has expressed gratitude for the asylum and hospitality of the host countries, especially the neighboring countries, and has asked Afghan migrants to return to Afghanistan.

This reaction comes as Iranian police have recently engaged in anti-human rights and refugee rights violence.

Based on a video recording released on social media, Iranian police in civilian clothes have placed their foot on the neck of a young migrant, causing harm.
