2024 Paris Olympics: Zakiya Khodadadi Achieves Historic Victory
Bayan News – Zakiya Khodadadi, an Afghan taekwondo athlete and representative of the refugee team at the International Paralympic Committee in Paris, defeated her Cuban opponent in her first competition.
The 25-year-old from Afghanistan competed on Thursday (August 29) and won against her rival with a score of 21 to 11.
Her next match will be against an opponent from Uzbekistan, and with a victory, she will advance to the semifinals.
This is Zakiya’s first victory in the history of the Paralympic Games. Notably, no Afghan athlete from the refugee team had achieved this historic victory before.
