Netanyahu: Iran has turned the Gaza Strip into a hub of threat against Israel

Bayan News – Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, claims that the Islamic Republic has transformed the Gaza Strip into a center of threat against Israel by sending weapons.

On Wednesday (September 4), during a press conference in Jerusalem, the Prime Minister stated: “Israel’s control over the land and sea borders of Gaza prevents smuggling.”

He noted that the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Philadelphi Corridor in 2005 facilitated the smuggling of weapons into Gaza, emphasizing: “We will not leave this axis again.”

Netanyahu stated: “Because we left the Philadelphi Corridor in 2005, Iran has turned the Gaza Strip into a hub of threat against Israel.”

Continuing his comments, he said: “We will control the Philadelphi Corridor to prevent the smuggling of weapons into Gaza.”

He clarified that all declared objectives of the war in Gaza can only be achieved by exercising control over this border axis.

The Prime Minister of Israel pointed out that “without preventing arms smuggling by Hamas, we cannot free the hostages,” adding: “If we reduce pressure on Hamas by withdrawing from the Philadelphi Corridor, we will not be able to retrieve all the hostages.”

This comes as the United States has been making significant efforts in recent days to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Recently, the White House announced that it plans to present a new dialogue framework between Israel and Hamas this week to secure a ceasefire in Gaza.
