Leaders of 9 European Countries Call for Immediate Ceasefire in the Middle East
Bayan News – Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the leaders of 9 European Union countries in the Mediterranean have called for an immediate ceasefire in the region.
On Friday, October 11, the leaders of these countries issued a joint statement, declaring that the establishment of a ceasefire in the Middle East is now essential.
The statement reads: “Following the expansion of the Gaza war, we express our deep concern over the intensifying military confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah.”
The leaders of France, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal emphasized that they are seeking an immediate ceasefire and the timely delivery of humanitarian aid to Lebanon and the Golan Heights.
It is worth noting that the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon began about a year ago, following missile launches by this group in support of Hamas against Israel.
In recent days, these clashes have increased unprecedentedly in southern Lebanon and other parts of the country.
Previously, EU countries had also called for an end to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
