Moscow: The $20 Billion U.S. Aid to Ukraine from Russian Assets is “Nothing but Theft”

Bayan News – The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday, December 11, that Washington’s $20 billion aid to Ukraine from Russian assets demonstrates “nothing but outright theft” by the United States.

Moscow warned the United States that Russia would retaliate by confiscating Western assets within its territory to strengthen its industrial capacity.

In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “The allocation of $20 billion by the U.S. Treasury Department using revenues generated from the circulation of Russia’s frozen state assets—essentially plundered by the G7 countries—is nothing but theft.”

The Ministry added that the Biden administration is seeking to impose as many sanctions as possible against Russia before handing over power to Trump on January 20. The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that these actions will not go unanswered.

According to the statement: “Russia possesses sufficient capabilities and leverage to seize Western assets within its jurisdiction as retaliation. Such assets will be used to strengthen industrial capacity and implement infrastructure projects in Russian regions.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. Treasury Department announced on Tuesday that $20 billion had been transferred to the World Bank intermediary fund as part of the G7’s $50 billion loan package to support Ukraine.
