The UN Security Council strongly opposes the imposition of restrictions on Afghan women
Bayan news
In a meeting on Thursday (April 28), the United Nations Security Council has condemned work and education bans on Afghan women and girls.
In a resolution passed by 15 positive votes, the members of this council asked the leaders of the Islamic Emirate to cancel the educational and work bans on Afghan women and girls.
The United Nations Security Council continues to demand the full, equal and meaningful participation of women and girls in various areas of Afghanistan.
This is the second time that members of the UN Security Council have strongly criticized the restrictions imposed on Afghan women and girls by the caretaker government in Kabul.
In the latest case, the caretaker government in Kabul, in an unexpected decision, banned women from working in UN offices across Afghanistan, causing a dramatic drop in humanitarian aid in the country.
However, in the next three days, a meeting hosted by the United Nations will be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and it is expected that in this meeting, human rights issues, including how women and girls are deprived of their basic rights, will be decided.
