Faisal Bin Farhan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, says that his country will focus more so that Afghanistan does not become a center of terrorism.

He made these statements on Thursday (June 8) in a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the sidelines of the meeting of the global coalition against ISIS in Riyadh.

The Saudi Foreign Minister said: “We still want to repeat that we must focus our work more in Afghanistan so that Afghanistan cannot become a safe haven for terrorist groups again.”

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State says that Washington is committed to a serious fight in order to protect national interests and prevent the revival of terrorism in Afghanistan.

Blinken said: “In connection with Afghanistan, we have always made it clear that we focus on the main interests and national security of the month, as well as to prevent the revival of terrorism originating from Afghanistan, and if necessary, we will take action to fight this phenomenon.”

He also noted that he will work closely with Afghanistan’s allies and neighbors in the fight against ISIS and other terrorist groups.

The meeting of the global coalition against ISIS was held yesterday in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
