More than 100 people have lost their lives in 9 provinces of Afghanistan due to recent floods

Bayan News – Officials from the Ministry of Disaster Management report that 38 people have died and 57 others have been injured as a result of recent floods in 9 provinces of Afghanistan.

Shafiullah Rahimi, a spokesman for the ministry, tweeted on Monday (July 24) that from Cancer 29 to Asad 1, floods in Maidan Wardak, Kabul, Khost, Paktia, Kunar, Nuristan, Ghazni, and Nangarhar provinces have killed 38 people and injured 57 others.

He said the floods have completely and partially destroyed nearly a thousand residential homes in addition to killing two more people who are still missing.

Rahimi also wrote that 456 head of cattle have been killed and the crops of more than 7,000 jeribs of agricultural land have been destroyed.

This comes as the floods have caused more fatalities in Maidan province.

Local officials in the province have said that nearly 30 people have been killed in recent floods in Maidan Wardak province.
