Bayan News – It has been reported that Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, will participate in the Moscow Format meeting.
The Moscow Format meeting, scheduled for September 29th, will focus on the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, counterterrorism efforts, and crimes related to narcotics.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed Mr. Muttaqi’s participation in this meeting.
Earlier, senior Moscow officials had announced that the upcoming Moscow meeting would focus on the situation in Afghanistan, but it is unclear who will participate in the meeting.
Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, had stated that no significant progress had been made regarding the formation of a comprehensive government, and this issue would be discussed at the Moscow Format meeting.
Kabulov had also confirmed that representatives of the Kabul caretaker government would be invited to this meeting.
