Muttaqi: Confidence between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan has increased

Bayan News – Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, has stated that the level of confidence between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan has increased.

On Monday night (February 26), the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a video recording of the acting minister, in which he said that he had extensive discussions with the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.

In the video recording, Muttaqi stated that he had discussed topics such as the TAPI project, increasing electricity imports to Afghanistan, railway connections, and other issues with his Turkmen counterpart.

The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban also mentioned that the decision has been made for Afghanistan and Turkmenistan to make progress and achieve positive outcomes in all areas.

According to Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan have very good relations, and efforts are being made to increase the diplomatic level between the two countries.

He emphasized that the two countries trust each other and have no concerns, highlighting that the level of “confidence” has significantly increased, and Afghanistan and Turkmenistan want to play a positive role at the regional level.

The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban also mentioned the Lajvard route, stating that Turkmenistan is interested in connecting Afghanistan to Europe through the Lajvard route.

Mr. Muttaqi stated in his remarks that there are many projects within Afghanistan in which Turkmenistan can invest, and Kabul is ready to provide necessary preparations in this regard.

The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban recently traveled to Ashgabat upon the invitation of the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.
