The United States vetoed the resolution for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations

Bayan News – The voting session in the United Nations Security Council for Palestine’s membership took place on Friday night (April 18) at the council’s headquarters.

According to reports, out of the 15 Security Council members, 12 countries voted in favor, while the United Kingdom and Switzerland abstained, and the United States representative vetoed with their negative vote.

Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian self-governing body, strongly criticized the U.S. veto and stated in a statement that “this veto is unfair, unethical, and unjustifiable.”

Meanwhile, Israel’s Katz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, praised the United States for vetoing the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations.
