Bayan News – Ned Price, Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, says that the United States engages with the Taliban for its own interests.

He made these remarks on Tuesday, April 30, at a press briefing and added that such interaction is essential to protect the interests of the United States and the people of Afghanistan.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the U.S. Department of State stated that engaging with the Taliban will provide a platform to directly negotiate the release of American citizens from the Taliban’s grip.

According to this official from the U.S. Department of State, interacting with the Taliban, on one hand, facilitates the fight against terrorism, and on the other hand, will focus on human rights issues.
