The Taliban welcomed Kazakhstan’s move to remove them from the list of terrorist organizations.

Bayan News – Abdulqahar Balkhi, spokesman for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says that the current Kabul government welcomes the decision of the President of Kazakhstan to remove their name from the list of banned groups in that country.

Balkhi wrote on the X platform on Tuesday (June 4): “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers this step an important progress in Kazakhstan’s understanding of the Islamic Emirate and the removal of an obstacle to the advancement of bilateral relations.”

The spokesman for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs further stated that Kazakhstan is an important trade and transit partner of Afghanistan in the region, and this decision paves the way for the advancement of bilateral relations and greater economic cooperation, which is in the interest of the two countries.

Yesterday, the President of Kazakhstan announced at the Collective Security Treaty Organization meeting in Almaty that he had removed the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations.

He explained that the purpose of this action is to strengthen economic and trade relations with Afghanistan.
