Emphasis of America and Qatar on supporting Afghan women

Bayan News – Rina Amiri, America’s special representative for Afghan women, has discussed cooperation with Lulwah Al Khater, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, on the issue of Afghan women and girls.

This meeting took place on Monday (July 1st) on the sidelines of the third Doha conference, and both sides emphasized the empowerment of Afghan women and girls.

Rina Amiri participated in this meeting.

The third Doha conference, with the participation of 25 special representatives from countries for Afghanistan, has concluded. On the second day of this conference, Zabihullah Mujahid, the head of the Taliban delegation, provided explanations to the participants on the achievements of the Taliban in the past three years, the fight against drugs, and the lifting of financial sanctions on Afghanistan.

The United Nations, which hosted this conference, has not provided details on the work flow of the two-day Doha conference.

Doha an important opportunity

Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, gave a statement on the second day of the third Doha conference, describing the Doha conference as an important opportunity for meaningful discussions.

Al Khalifa stated that the Doha conference demonstrates Qatar’s solid intention to support the people of Afghanistan. According to him, such conferences (Doha conference) provide an opportunity for direct cooperation with the Taliban.
