Women Economic Activists: Our Products Are Not Supported in the Sales Markets

Bayan News – A group of Afghan women economic activists say that there is no market for their products and their products are not supported in the market.

Tahmineh Azizi, a clothing producer, said in a video: “The challenges facing women are very high. First, they don’t have raw materials and they are not connected to donors, and a number of them who do, receive very limited budgets and cannot even pay the rent of the shop they are working in.”

She asks international organizations to provide economic support for women’s employment and their products so that women can address the challenges of their families through economic activities.

Fatemeh Asghari, who is engaged in economic activities, says that the opportunity to participate in exhibitions is provided for some active women, but women do not have the basic means to be able to actively participate in these exhibitions with a backup.

Ms. Asghari believes that if the necessary support is provided for the employment and economic activities of women, the economic situation of families and people will also change.

However, after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, the level of poverty and hunger in the country has increased sharply and has affected millions of people.

Although international organizations have announced millions of dollars in the past three years to support women’s jobs in Afghan markets, there is no transparency in this type of aid or economic support for women.
