The Taliban inaugurated the construction of the “Pletuni” water dam in Paktika
Bayan News – Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the economic deputy of the Taliban Prime Minister, initiated the construction of the “Pletuni” water dam during his visit to Paktika province.
The press office of the Taliban’s economic deputy stated in a news release that the construction of this dam was inaugurated on Monday (August 29) in the presence of Mullah Baradar.
According to the statement, the economic deputy of the Taliban Prime Minister mentioned at the inauguration ceremony that agriculture is crucial for a strong economy and water is the most important factor for agricultural development.
He emphasized that the current system is determined to manage natural resources and that investment opportunities have been provided for both domestic and foreign investors.
According to the published information, the rehabilitation of the Pletuni water dam will be completed in two years and six months by the National Development Company with the support of the Taliban, and its construction will strengthen the groundwater of the surrounding areas, irrigate agricultural lands, and control floods.
