Arab Media Reports the Death of Hashem Safieddin in Israeli Airstrike
Bayan News – Al Arabiya has reported, citing security sources, that Hashem Safieddin, a leader of Hezbollah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike along with several assistants, field commanders of Hezbollah, and a few Iranians.
The report, published on Saturday (October 5), states that the location where Hashem Safieddin was present in the southern outskirts of Beirut, which was targeted on Thursday night, was situated at a significant depth underground.
Earlier, a Lebanese security source had confirmed that communication with Hashem Safieddin was cut off following this airstrike.
Additionally, sources have indicated that Israel has confirmed the deaths of Hashem Safieddin and all individuals who were with him.
Previously, the Israeli newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” had reported that, according to estimates, all individuals present at the Hezbollah intelligence headquarters at the time of the attack had lost their lives.
The newspaper also stated that this attack was carried out with the intention of assassinating Hashem Safieddin, a possible successor to Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah.
It is reported that the head of Hezbollah’s intelligence division, a person known by the nickname “Murtada,” was also present at the headquarters during the attack.
In this operation, Israel used 73 tons of bombs, and the strikes were carried out at a greater depth than the location where Hassan Nasrallah was killed.
According to assessments by Yediot Aharonot, the likelihood of survival for those present at the site of the attack is very low, both due to the collapse of debris and the leakage of toxic gases that cause asphyxiation.
