The French government has arrested two Afghan citizens on charges of terrorist activity

Bayan News – It has been reported that investigators from the French General Directorate for Internal Security have arrested three individuals, including two Afghans, on charges of “terrorist activity” and membership in a terrorist criminal association.

According to published reports, these individuals were arrested on Tuesday, October 8, in the southwest of France.

Informed sources within the French government also confirmed to the media that the two Afghan citizens were planning to carry out a violent act on French soil.

The French Counter-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office told the French News Agency that the three individuals are under investigation and interrogation “as part of a preliminary investigation into membership in a terrorist criminal association with the aim of preparing one or more crimes harmful to individuals.”

These individuals were arrested in the regions of Toulouse and “Haute-Garonne” in the southwest of France.

No further information regarding the identity of these individuals or details of the case has yet been released.
