Bayan News – The American newspaper The New York Times, citing informed U.S. officials, has reported that U.S. special forces have been deployed to Israel to assist in the recovery of hostages.
The recently published report states that U.S. commandos are advising Israeli forces in their efforts to free hostages held by Hamas.
The newspaper also noted that after these commandos were deployed, U.S. intelligence officers also traveled to Israel to join them.
The New York Times further highlighted that six U.S. MQ-9 drones have carried out reconnaissance missions to help locate the hostages.
According to the report, since the start of the Gaza conflict, U.S. military and intelligence teams have been assisting the Israeli army, focusing not only on searching for hostages but also on tracking senior Hamas commanders.
While U.S. officials did not attribute the Israeli operation that resulted in the death of Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader, to Washington, the report did mention that U.S. intelligence played a role in tracking the leaders and members of the movement.
